Step 1
Attach a rope to the top
loop of the trigger. Next
adjust the foot to the
desired height. This will
prevent the claw from
closing too low, and
grabbing roots, branches
or other forest litter.

Step 2
With the retriever
in a upright position
as pictured, lift up
the pivot arm (claw)
to a 90 degree position.

Step 3
Pull up rope to set the
trigger in the correct
position.
The trigger is adjustable.
By sliding the trigger down
a slight amount you can
make the trigger set more
sensitive. This will result in
a lighter “tap” to release
the claw.

Step 4
The retriever is now ready
to use. Lower it down in
a smooth movement until
you are on top of the item
you wish to recover. A
slight twist in the rope will
rotate the claw to the
correct side . Now
lower the retriever down
NEXT to the item so the
base contacts the ground
with a slight tap. This will
cause the claw to pull the
item against the post. Lift
the retriever up in a slow
but steady fashion.
